Madrid, Spain: A shot of the Torre de Madrid (Madrid Tower) at the Plaza de España (Spain's Square) in the centre of the city.
With its 142 metres of height, it was for many years the highest building in Madrid (and in all of Spain) until 1982, when it was surpassed by the Torrespaña Telecommunications Tower (nicknamed "the Lollipop"). More recently, it has also been surpassed by the Picasso Tower (157 m) and by the four CTBA towers (more than 200 m tall each).

El rascacielos "Torre de Madrid" (142 metros de altura) de la Plaza de España, en el centro de la ciudad. Hasta 1982 fue el edificio más alto de España, pero ese año fue superado por la torre de comunicaciones Torrespaña (conocida popularmente como "El Pirulí"), y recientemente, también por la Torre Picasso (157 m) y por los cuatro grandes rascacielos de Chamartín, que superan con creces los 200 metros de altura.
